Artificial Intelligence is becoming part of everyday life — shaping how we communicate, learn, and access services. While these technologies offer many opportunities, they can also feel complex or overwhelming, particularly for older generations.
In response, the Pastoral Formation Institute (PFI), in collaboration with the Diocesan Coordinator for AI‑related Activity and the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA), is launching a community‑based AI literacy initiative focused on accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful participation, especially for the elderly.
The programme helps participants understand what AI is, how it already affects daily life, and how it can be used confidently and responsibly. Rooted in ethical reflection and community dialogue, it places people — not technology — at the centre.
By delivering AI education directly within local communities, the initiative ensures that no one is left behind as digital innovation continues to advance.
