Biography

Ms Mariella Catania studied at the University of Malta, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Human Studies in 2003 and a Master of Arts in Theology in 2007. Between 2022 and 2023, she studied at Maryvale Institute, where she obtained a Licence in Divinity (Pathway in Catechetical Sciences). She is a pastoral activities coordinator and a religious education teacher at a local church school. Ms Mariella Catania is a board member of the Pastoral Formation Institute and is also part of the Malta Diocese’s Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, where she prepares adult candidates for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. She is also involved in pastoral work focusing on the areas of liturgy and music ministry at the Sgħajtar pastoral centre in Naxxar.
